Say hello to The Bee Conservancy’s staff beekeepers at Prospect Park Zoo!
Have you ever seen the magic that goes on inside a beehive? Hear about it all firsthand from a beekeeper and learn how they safely work with their hives, what tools they use, how to identify different kinds of bees, and why these precious pollinators are vital for the environment.
Meet A Beekeeper will start at 12pm by the zoo’s hives on Discovery Trail, across from the Dingos.
The zoo operates rain or shine! However if rain, severe heat, or air quality become an issue in opening the hives and disrupting the bees or our staff, TBC will make an announcement of cancellation closer to date, with 48-24 hours notice.
The Bee Conservancy’s Bee Sanctuary is located outdoors, within the zoo and zoo entry fee is required.
Please dress accordingly; hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and refillable water bottles are highly recommended.
