The Girl Scouts are invited to gather at The Horse Statue in Liberty Park for a free, interactive event that celebrates the bees of NYC! During an engaging talk about The Big Apple’s buzzy pollinators, The Bee Conservancy will unveil its latest cavity-nesting bee habitat and invite each Girl Scout to personalize a solitary bee “studio apartment” with a special message. !
New York is home to over 415 bee species and they are essential to pollinating our fruit, vegetables, and flowers. These tube“apartments” provide shelter to small carpenter, leafcutter, and mason bees in TBC’s exclusive native bee house.
After attending this educational talk and completing this activity, each Girl Scout will earn a special “Save the Bees” Badge. There will also be coloring activities available for Girl Scouts with creative flair.
