WORLD BEE DAY AT THE URBAN FARM ON GOVERNORS ISLAND

The Bee Conservancy invites you to our 2nd annual World Bee Day festival — a FREE family-friendly day that celebrates the 20,000+ bee species that pollinate 80% of the world’s flowering plants!
Hosted at our flagship Bee Sanctuary, we’ll offer fun, educational programming including “Honey Bee Hive Dives,” arts and crafts, and native bee and habitat talks. OurUrban Farm neighbors Earth Matter will host a Seed Bomb Making Station and GrowNYC will reveal garden secrets, like how to dissect a flower! Plus, enjoy face painting and a musical performance!
Learn how to build sustainable pollinator habitats, discover the fascinating world of ground- and cavity- nesting bees, peek inside a colony of tens of thousands of honey bees. Enjoy complimentary gift bags and goodies from our sponsor, Zarbee’s on a first come, first serve basis.
The Urban Farm and our World Bee Day event activities are open to the public from 12-4pm.
