Nectar Nights On Governors Island

August 13, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 6:30 pm UTC+0

Experience the splendor and significance of bees and enjoy complimentary sunset sips.

Have you ever seen the magic that goes on inside a beehive?  Immerse yourself in the opportunity to learn the secrets of bee society. Led by a trained beekeeper, The Bee Conservancy will give an up close and personal view of the beehives nestled in their Bee Sanctuary at The Urban Farm, followed by a Q&A.  Continue to delve into the intimate relationship between plants and pollinators during a short stroll to Collective Retreats luxury campsite for something sweet – a Bee’s Knees cocktail demonstration led by the mixologists at The Botanist Gin. The outdoor experience  culminates in a happy hour for guests to sip and mingle over a Bee’s Knees cocktail at Collective Retreat’s rustic bar. Guests will leave the experience with a deeper appreciation for these precious pollinators, a bartender’s knack for making the perfect Bee’s Knees, and a stunning sunset view on beautiful, historic Governors Island!

Details About This Event

  • This event is exclusively for adults ages 21+ with valid photo ID.
  • A very limited number of tickets are available for this special experience. A waitlist will be enabled when we reach capacity, and you can sign up to be notified via email if a spot opens up.

  • Guests who are interested in specifically dining at Collective Retreats restaurant after the Nectar Nights experience are required to make a dinner reservation for August 13th via  Collective Retreats reservations system.
  • A rain date of August 20th has been held should weather interfere.
  • This is an outdoor event, please wear comfortable attire and shoes. The environment is low-tech; no charging outlets or storage for extra  personal belongings, so we encourage you to use that to your advantage as a place to be present outdoors.
  • This outdoor event will bring you in proximity to live honey bees and other natural creatures. If you have allergies to stinging insects or other concerns about the park setting, TBC does not recommend attending.
  • TBC recommends not wearing overly fragrant perfumes or colognes: Specifically, bananas or banana-scented sunscreens/shampoos, etc as it resembles the alarm pheromone that bees send out to each other.
